Ah heck, I enjoyed it.

Its got some flaws--and the theatre I saw it at had some warbly sound that didn't help my hearing aids very much-so I missed out on some dialogue and thus some context.

Some parts were slow, but..........well, when it came to the action, I think that is what the core of this movie was to me.
Philosophy and religious connotations aside, this was a popcorn fest in the truest sense. The freeway sequence was a hoot, as was the burly fight with 101+ Agent Smiths.
There are times when I want to contemplate, and there's times when I want to watch stuff get blowed up real good.
Matrix Reloaded was more of the latter.
I missed some of the more purely cyber-punk-esque flavour of the first one--although there was some of it......

The rave sequence was........I dunno. I'm too old for raves and the whole thing seemed dopey to me.
Larry Fishburne ruled in the first flick and he still rules--Morpheus made the film fun.

The "Superman" stuff.................visually cool, but out of place. Almost seems like something that would short-change a proper Superman film itself. Even acknowledging it in this movie was a dumb idea........sets up too much audience familliarity when we see the same effects in the rumoured up-coming Superman movie(s) themselves. Aborts the surprise factor for that property, IMO
Wish the stuff had been visualized another way.
Have to agree with most here, first half was weak, second half was alot better paced and stronger story-wise.
This is not a movie I feel a need to analyze too deeply.......it crumbles like a handful of sand if you think about it too much.
Its trying hard to be deep, deeper than it probably needs or deserves to be--but at the same time, its not just shallow effects, stunts and pyro-work.
This movie was like reading a comic, with all the wild, dopey, clever spectacle one would expect from same and that is suiting me just dandy.

--Ken
