I got LXG, also... still not very excited. The brief shot of Hyde looked silly.

Also got the Hulk trailer... except that he seems to be too light & move too fast (despite the fact that he's a super-agile & strong giant!) it seemed nice.

No Nemo trailer for me. Rats.
Keith
www.toonimator.com

Yep. Saw that one, too. And "Dumb & Dumberer". There was one other film besides those & the two comic-adaptations... haven't a clue what it was. Not animated, anyway.
Keith
www.toonimator.com

I liked the film, but why is Cyclops such a dork?
________________
www.boltcity.com

Because it provides a nice contrast to the cool, roughneck Wolverine. Jean's torn between the square nice boy and the rebel bad boy...

-C

www.cameron-stewart.com

Well aside from LXG, I did get some nice trailers, including Finding Nemo and Matrix Reloaded. Unfortunately, I also got a trailer for Sinbad, gah! Lastly, I did get one for a very silly looking Cohen Bros movie about Siamese Twins....
-Keith

No, not Coen Brothers. Farrelly Brothers.

NEVER confuse the two.

But Matrix Reloaded... yeah, that was the trailer I'd forgotten! Probably cuz I'd seen it so often online already... but it was definitely cool to see it on the big screen.
Keith
www.toonimator.com

Nice-Make mine X3

Postby Mr Clean7 » Fri May 09, 2003 10:21 am

Wow. I am finally impressed with this whole marvel movie mania thing going on- X2 was pretty amazing( I was scared after they showed that horrible Hulk trailer- cgi looks like ass,i've seen better video games.). I loved it. A comic book geek couldn't ask for anything more- Wolverine finally kicks some ass. Lady Deathstrike was pretty cool( uh, not to mention hot) I think the fight scene betweeen the two of them kinda lost some steam- i was digging on the whole slash for a slash thing- Kinda reminded me of Wolvie's fight with the Silver Samurai way back. Mystique was dope- hands down. The whole "iron in the blood thing" was classic- a true moment.I'm in agreement with Cameron about the feel of it being "Empire Strikes Backish"- and oh my gawd- Brian Cox, Allan Cummings are real actors! Storm actually had good scenes and less lines ..."THANK GOD" after that whole "do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightening line" has to be one of the worst one liners ever. Her eyes rolled back and her head and she just did cool stuff- nuff said. Now all she needs is that mo-hawk man...
The darK phoenix angle was an unexpected surprise- I loved it. Now they can bump up Cyclops some in the next one... which should only be about one thing...

THE HELLFIRE CLUB.

Jean as the Black Queen, A secret society of mutant elitists,gasp- should I say- The "White Queen". I'm having "geek-gazismz" as someone said earlier. I loved Magneto- but i think it's time to write in some new blood, bring old helmet head back for 4.

i'm out- SHAZAM
M.

I liked that movie a LOT. I finally got to see it just last night. I didn't understand the Jean Grey Phoenix thing - I totally forgot about the Phoenix thing. I heard about it once from a friend, but you know how those things disappear.

I was sort of disappointed with Kurt. He's supposed to be fuzzy. And goofy. (At least he was in the comics I read, but I mostly only have the Gambit series.)

Speaking of Gambit, he damned well better be in the next one. I was all hyped up and then the "Gambit will be in the next movie" I heard turned out to be his name on the computer screen.

I love Mystique.

Gambit is ass. He's been in the comics just over a dozen years and hasn't contributed much except as Rogue's love interest, the potential betrayer of the X-Men, and turning out in classic revisionist history to be the guy that recruited, for Mr. Sinister, the Marauders that massacred the Morlocks in Mutant Massacre. And his "cool" factor. As history goes, he's got zip. I could care less if he's in it or not... but if they do him well, I'll probably enjoy it.

As for the next film: MrClean, c'mon, they can't do the WHOLE Dark Phoenix thing next film. At least, they SHOULDN'T. Jean becoming Black Queen, turning dark, and ultimately dying would require a LOT of screen-time. And she's under water!!!!! You gotta let her be gone awhile, to make her return greater. and if, IF, she becomes Dark Phoenix & dies, doing it ONE FILM AFTER she already "died" is a cruel joke to the audience, especially those who DON'T know X-Men history. "Wait, if she died last film, why'd they bring her back just to kill her again?"

It'd be like if Spock died at the end of Star Trek III. Cheap.

Next film should, perhaps, have Sentinels, but government-backed mutant-killing machines is a tad close to Stryker's government-backed mutant-hunting humans.

There's plenty to do. Maybe a Mutant Massacre. Maybe return of the Brotherhood, and/or Juggernaut. And Jean's return. She should definitely return and be all Phoenix-y, but the Dark stuff, if they go that route, should come in #4.
Keith
www.toonimator.com

Saw it last week and liked it a lot. Particularly the small moments like when Bobby Drake chills Wolverine's Dr. Pepper.

As a fan of the original books, I wish that the previous and current scripts had chosen Kitty and Piotr as the love interest of the story instead of Rouge and Iceman. As if you couldn't tell already, I'm a big fan of Paul Smith's run on the books in the 80's.

hope I'm not spoiling anything

But am I the only one who kept thinking of "The Ring" through all the scenes with the creepy little girl-thing that had the power to project horrible images that a Mom would want to drill out of her head, and the same actor playing "her" Dad?
