i remember dave corkrum from x-men a looong time ago (early 80's?). he was a guy who, like mike mignola in that same era, i wasn't a big fan of. i recall he did those stories of cyclops' spaceman father (starjammer?) or something like that. i think he does independent type stuff these days and teaches an occassional beard trimming course...

I think his recent stuff is from Claypool comics, and Aardwolf(?).

If I recall, he did some Thunder Agents for a minute a few, 10 years ago. Well...I remember the ads, anyway.

R.

I saw Dave Cockrum posting on the DC Comics messageboards a few months ago, under the name "Dark Bamf." He was complaining about Catwoman's new costume, and talking about how sexy Hawkgirl is.

I kid you not.
-C

www.cameron-stewart.com

That guy could've become way better, it's sad how his art degenerated with the years. The talent is definitely there...

Dave Cockrum did quite a bit of work for Claypool, including about ten "Elvira" stories and almost twenty issues of SOULSEARCHERS & COMPANY. Claypool stays in touch occasionally, but despite their asking, he's not done any new work for them for a few years now.

I understand there are some TwoMorrows projects, including the "Legion of Super-Heroes" volume, which feature new Cockrum art (and some classic art, too).

www.twomorrows.com/
www.claypoolcomics.com/

~D

"I saw Dave Cockrum posting on the DC Comics messageboards a few months ago, under the name "Dark Bamf." I remember i use to hate Cockrum's run on Xmen Hated his style- "i was a john Bryne devotee"- but now i look back and see that he would totally fit into today's style...i.e. meaning your X-Statix /Tangled Web or even Catwoman...no joke. I can totally see Cockrum drawing her- in the new outfit no less- --- She's got that whole big bug eyed- Shi'ar empire thing going on that he seemed to personify way back then.

i'd love to see Cockrum get his hands back into the ring- maybe even a fill in on Morrison's Xmen for old times sake...

ungh- did i just say "morrison's Xmen?" - my bad.

late.
M
