I kept tabs on the last few issues of the series, mostly to see how they handled the latest entry in DC's quest to restore/reintroduce Pre-Crisis characters & situations.

Myk, if you read closely, Linda (Supergirl) was told that if she didn't return to her REAL home (ie, in-continuity Earth) and let Kara Zor-El live out her life on the Pre-Crisis Earth, then Kara wouldn't be there to die in the battle with the Anti-Monitor when the Crisis was happening, and thus all alternate-Earths would have been destroyed, as well as the entire multiverse.

So Linda went home, and sent Kara back where she belonged. Her letter to Clark at the end was saying goodbye, NOT because she'd died (you could see her writing the letter after she'd gotten home), but because through some unexplained revelation while battling that big evil guy, she realized she had to give up being Supergirl and find out who she, Linda Danvers, after all she'd been through, really was. Kara Zor-El went back to her life as Superman's Cousin on another Earth, and died wearing a silly 80s-style Supergirl costume complete w/ headband.

Plus Linda had to resign, so this new Cir-El Supergirl, Lois & Clark's supposed daughter, can take over in mainline DCU.

Recap: Kara dead. Linda alive. Balance of time/space restored, Crisis happens as it was supposed to. Linda retires. Cir-El new Supergirl. And Linda & pre-Crisis Clark's daughter Ariella surfs the spaceways in some lost facet of Hypertime.

Now I'm gonna go move into my parents' basement & start eating Cheetos 24/7. Between this & the X2 talk, my inner geek's gaining tremendous strength. Raarr. Geek power.
Keith
www.toonimator.com
