THEY CAME FROM OUTER SPACE!
--Strange visitors to our world from beyond the Milky Way!

It's the return of the Jams! I felt that it was the one element missing from the board's recent revamp. So, I'm just going to start one- I hope you find time to join in. And for the relaunch, I've chosen a pretty broad spectrum of genre fiction- ALIENS! Any off-world being from film, television, comics or other facet of popular culture fits the bill. Please Join in, have fun and spread the word that the jams are back. And if a Moderator could Sticky this thread, it would be much appreciated, thanks.


To start things off, here's the Cybermen, cyborgs from the planet Mondas, as they appeared in the 1967 Doctor Who serial "Tomb of the Cybermen":

I know I have been MIA from the board for some time: apologies for that - I got
crazy busy making those funnybooks as you might have heard, but I do plan to try
to get back to the beloved DB more often, like I used to.

I wish you all the best for this new year and of course a new drawing jam is just the perfect way to start 2012 with a good resolution : DRAW

Just by happenstance, I've been working on a project called Space Corps. It's basically Marines in space but the Marines are aliens. I've been wanting to do comics for a long time and it's time to get off my duff and just do it. I've got to populate a platoon full of aliens. I'll add to this throughout the month, but here is what I've got done so far:

Fist up is Cpl Hive. He is made up of highly intelligent alien bees that share a hive mind:



Next up is Capt Brockett, the company commander. He comes from a planet with a very hostile environment:





I'm not sure if she has a name yet, but this is the platoon sergeant. Her world has been wiped out and there are only a few of her kind left:


This is the corpsman which comes from a planet of sentient robots:


That's about it for now. Like I said, I need to do a platoon so hopefully the jam will get a fire under my butt to get more done. I'm looking forward to it!
