Oakhorse: loverly loose sketch. The longish face is another attribute for Holmes that seems to have stuck, heh?

beesqp: glad you dug the lines. I like the angularity of yours...though maybe his eyes seem slightly asian because of the angle?

Loading: very cute. like the stylisation and the colouring is great too. nice work!

Another from me...tribute to Jack Davis, Frazetta and Sandy Kossin for those classic film posters! Those guys are gods :D

Here's an old one I did years ago for a previous jam (don't remember offhand what it was though) and it since it fit this jam I thought I'd post it again - especially since it had some of that Bohemian attitude of the new film.
I did add some quick grays so it wasn't a complete repeat...

SteveG, that's the kind of hook nosed detective I picture. Here's mine with a bit of pigment as per Loading. Still trying to get a hang of the digital coloring but I actually like this one.

Em- Brilliant as usual! Great likeness.
Loading- Love your style. A lot of attitude in that expression and the foot prints was a nice touch of storytelling as well as compositional element.
Steve G- You rock. Love the line work and style. I'd buy that comic.

The rest of you guys keep the awesome work coming. Here are a couple of my pieces.
First is a Moriarty character design for a comic project I'm working on and an excerpt from one of the pages. Then a quick sketch of Robert Downey's Holmes. Haven't seen the movie yet but am looking forward to it.

This (even if only 2 pages long) has to be one of the finest Jam I have seen lately on the
DB: such a great variety of styles and interpretations :D
I will be back with detailed comments in a bit but I wanted to share something I did this past
weekend, based off a pencil sketch done during the holiday watching some good ole SH
movies on TV.
Ink and inkwash with some digital color trown on it for good measure ;)
"SH: A Study in Sepia"

Cheers,
Francesco
