Hey Heathen and TheRonin, were you two separated at birth? Both of you exhibit a very fine Joe Kubert influence. Amazing stuff.

huge ackman, uhhm, yah. Interesting "post." You give new meaning to the phrase, "blue balls."

doctor bedlam's wiki page makes it sound like he was the inspiration for 'the prestige'.

As promised...
em...: I had chance to get a sneak peek at this beauty and let me tell that it was
already freaking awesome in the developing stage :) Great expression in those eyes!
Can't wait to see the whole piece!
SawDust: you nailed Dr House and picked one of my fav tv show right now :)
mcsween: you are getting really good at using the tablet, Mike :D My fav is Dr
McCoy, probably because of the grayscale :)
Patrick77: really cool Dr STrange, love the attitude and the washes :)
SGeabhart: HA! Everytime I hear of Dr Zaius, that parody from SImpsons comes to
mind :D Great sketch there, few lines but enough to nail the likeness :)
Darren M A Calvert: you got them right, Darren, both of them ;) :) Dr Zoidberg looks
great too, pissed as he should be :)
heathencomics: FREAKIN' SWEET Strange, Gabe :D Love the Doom Patrol piece
too, with all the hinted characters :) But that Dr Bedlam illo takes the trophy: such a
great drawing and the inks are plain solid and powerful! :D
Moonman: cool sketches, I like that we can see the construction lines :) You
should finish them though ;)
Michael Wieringo: no links allowed! ;) Just kidding. First of all it was nice to see
you again in Charlotte, Mike, and I wish we would have had a chance to play a ping
pong match together ;) Great Dr Fate, I really like how imposing and a little scary he
looks :)
huge ackman: cool wind effect on your Dr Doom, and cool collage for the mask :) I
am not getting what character you are referencing to in the "blue" link ;)
Shawn Swain: perfect likeness, Shawn! :) I discovere Scrubs in relatively recent
times but I liked it right away :)
keithdotson: not so knee on the colors, but she looks hot :D
EricWolfeHanson: Dr Girlfriend is my fav, but I can see the likeness in the two
doctors as well :)

tintin: thank you :) and I can see the Kubert comment: sometimes I tend to be a bit
more lose and use bigger strokes and that gives the feel of the Master's style :) It's
always flattering to be related to such great artists :D And you know, I and Gabe
might be twins indeed ;)

Here's my morning exercise: it doesn't need introductions, I think ;)
Gotta work now on some pages, even if it's holiday - the
beautiful life of an artist... ;)

Cheers,
Francesco

I think you're close, Kieron. I reckon it's the Dr Moreau type character who appeared in an episode of South Park.

I thought it was Dr. Strangelove, or am I not following this exchange correctly?

Wonderful piece. love how the smoke and shadows morph into the bombers

*ok just realized I was not following this exchange correctly, Sorry about that.

Just assume that my admiration for the Dr. Strangelove piece left me dazed.

Kieron and Euan: the guy is indeed from SOuth Park and his name is Dr
Alphonse Mephisto, (mad) scientist and genetic engineer (he is famous for creating the
useless 4-asses monkeys and other 4-asses animals ;)). He is a regular of the series
(appearing in many episodes) and he is member of the other NAMBLA (National
Assocation of Marlon Brando Look_Alike :D) Euan was mentioning the dr moreau which
was clearly (in the marlon Brando movie version) an influence for the character. Dr
Moreau is also someone I had on my list to draw for this jam, if a get chance ;)
huge ackman: I win? I didn't know there was a comeptition ;) Thanks for the props :) On
your illo, I actually tought of Dr Manhattan, but I wasn't sure since I never saw him in
that... angle ;)
Dotar Sojat: Yep, IT IS Dr Strangelove. I tried to get Peter Sellers likeness even if the
drawing is not referenced to any picture from the movie. I am glad you liked the graphic
design of it :) Thank you!

Cheers,
Francesco

great stuff Euan -- might i suggest a slight recrop and then leave it as is. its very powerful as it is! sawdust: great house (and such a great show). mcsween: not sure who that is (deep space nince?) but it looks good. just remember to simplify the planes, which help turn the forms as its just a little bit flat. love the wrinkles on Dr. Mckoy! patick: good call! like the style. sgeabhart: haw - nice take on an unexpected doctor. Darrencalvert: great drawings. bold, clean lines -- nice. heathencomics: another good call, and a classic pose. you nailed him! second one is good to (good expression) and the mister miracle rocks even more. its got that classic comic book feel. great job (enjoying your posts). moonman: its only a quicky, but its looking good. michael wieringo: love the beady eyes on the closeup. hugeackman: cool - A for effort because you made an animated gif:-) shawn: haw - yeah, great expression. a great show that (and i love the subtle red you've used around the eyes for the bleay eyed doctor look). francesco: hah - not sure what that is but its well drawn and very strange looking. the Dr Stranglove is typical Francesco goodness in so many ways. and man, i LOVE that movie. erichanson: lovely face on the first one, and the other two are nice (prelim?) drawings.

the Dr. was a hit at the parties with his mystic bubble tricks (and 10 points for whomever can name the actor the face was based on:-)

Nice job everybody.

Euan, I really love that piece. The tight close-up is powerful.
Darren - awesome inks on those two docs. Zoidberg is a great one.
Gabriel - Love that Dr Strange and Bedlam.
Francesco - Nice dramatic lighting on Mephesto. Totally in keeping with the character.
daniel - Awesome Dr. Strange. I'm a bit confused with what's going on with his hand but other than that it's cool. I love the gold foil threaded throughout his cape. As for the face, he looks like Oded Fehr to me.

Did this up quick quick at work today. Standard ball point pen on copy paper. Scanned and colored in photoshop. Had to Google a reference photo since I hadn't seen the Muppets in years. But I fondly remember Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
