CosmicPencil: Thanks! From your lips to Karen Berger's ears. I haven't actually submitted to Vertigo yet. I plan to. Next free moment I get I plan to put together some new submission packets. Whenever that'll be.
em...: Thanks, Euan.
AgentHelix: You're too kind, thanks so much.
TheRonin: Me? The man? Thanks, Francesco.

Hey, Hack! I dunno if you remember me, but I first saw your artwork on the Pop Culture Bored. You do some truly Amazing stuff! You have a "timeless" quality about your work that I can only dream about having in mine. Way to go, man. :)

Hey, thanks Carnage. Yeah, I remember. Wasn't it still the old Jinxworld board back then? That seems so long ago.

Hack,
You need to update the title! I almost missed the new stuff that ya posted...
I am really digging every bit of energy that seems to emit from each image you post...
And because of you and your "Pulp-iness" I have been researching more pulp heroes and I am finding some really great ones....
There is one that I want to draw up, but first I got to find some good images of him first (and I will not spill the beans on who it is because when I post it I want people to try and figure out who he is, although you'll probably figure it out instantly)

If you need to find a writer for Vertigo, I can get you ahold of Stuart Moore (who is currently writing Firestorm, but he likes to work with new artists)

digitaldreammachine: Thanks. Much appreciated.
CosmicPencil: Aw, you're so kind. I'd love to see your pulp art. And I'll try to remember to update the title.
gbillustration: Thanks so much.

It's too bad that Strychnine isn't in a published book, cuz I would pick it up....reminds me kind of a character I have been drawing for a writer I am working with named the Clock.
And I still cannot get away from your dry brush! Wow! Me.... I do it with graphite, and you use dry brush, but they look so similar to me

Thanks Matt. Actually there was one comic appearance a long time ago... but never mind, it was astoundingly crappy. It's still a viable design. Maybe I'll do something with it at some point.

And by "The Clock" do you mean the classic Centaur Publications character from Funny Picture Stories, Detective Funnies & Crack Comics? As in Brian O'Brien- The Clock? I hope so; I've always had a soft spot for the character.

Fantastic new stuff, Robert.

I'm especially fond of the "Haw, Haw" guy in the tux.

I hope you'll have time to do something for next month's "Sword and Sorcery" jam - there are plenty of old classic and pulp heroes that would fit into that.

oh, that folder is getting bigger and bigger ;)
Love the new ones (particularly the laughing man and the alien) and the strychnine
character is way too cool for not using him in a book :D

em...: Thanks. I have a few things in mind for next month's jam. I have about a dozen Commissions to work on and some sequential stuff, but I hope to find the time to do something.
suryrony: Thanks so much.
TheRonin: Hey, thanks Francesco. I had no plans to do anything with Strychnine but you're not the only person to suggest it after I did this sketch. If I can come up with a good enough story I will- the old Strychnine stories were just awful. When I do I'm sure I'll post it here first.

The pin-up I did for Spawn will be in issue #149, which goes on sale TODAY! It was actually based on a sketch I did for the Image Comics Jam last year. They saw it and asked me to do a slightly more on-model version as a pin-up. I'll post it soon but here are some quick spawn sketches to tide you over.

And if anybody picks it up, please let me know what you think, I don't know when my copies will arrive. Thanks.

Not a big fan of Spawn, but hell if you were drawing it I would buy it!
Sorry about the Clock, it's a different one....but he wears a fedora, and the writer is Steve Roman, I met him at San Diego, and he liked my noir-pulp book I handed him, so I am decided to be his artist (and the book should be out by next San Diego OR Chicago) and so should Headcase for that matter...
Do you have any images of the aforementioned Clock character that you have a soft spot for?

Once more I am catching you as you post....must be my lucky day
