I picked up some new markers before our trip to Madeline Island. These are doodles and some ideas for a few paintings.... maybe.

I could use a few more colors. :)

These are really great. I llke the almost woodcut feel you're getting with the markers. And the way you transfer your own wonderful style in character design to what you observed is awesome. Did you create these characters as you observed the event? Or did you do the images later.

I just saw a really interesting documentary on Miyazaki about how he almost never drew on location. Rather he would go somewhere and then sketch it out from memory later, which allowed him to recreate it in his own way.

Anyway, awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing it.

Hey Thanks!

Storm-Most of these are just made up. Although sometimes a person is the inspiration. A few like the boat were drawn from life.

Francesco-A painting and perhaps a sculpture are in the works for the old guy with the pipe. I don't know about the swimmer yet...
