I know Halloween's over but.....

I made this after seeing an article in a magazine that showed how to take those foam fruits from the craft store and carve them into Jack-o-Lanterns.

The head is a foam apple that I carved and then added the eyes, teeth, and nose. They're made of paper clay.
Then I went to the back yard and colleted some branches and stuck one in the bottom of the apple to have a way to stick him in the ground. I also used branched to do the arms.
Then I took some of my fabrick swatches and stapled them together over the branches and then stuffed the fabric with fall leaves.
Then I wrapped the fabric with some hemp rope, and coated the whole thing with modge podge.

Then I decided to add the crow. He is made of tin foil that is wrapped with wire to form the shape and legs, then it was covered with paper clay and painted and modge podged and wired to the scarecrow.
I like the way it came out.

I'm doing snowmen with my boys now. We'll see how they turn out.

Many thanks to Atomic Terrier for making me curious about the Paperclay. I love that stuff now.
