illustration "jam" thread... join in! do it now!

Postby atropa » Mon Aug 25, 2003 1:56 pm

heya...

way back when on the old board i gave a go to starting an illustration "jam" thread acouple of times. some of the work that came out of it was super duper.

anyone up for trying the idea again?
if so, illustrate one of the following topics....

topic #1: counting calories / dieting
topic #2: the effects of growing old on your body
topic #3: urban gentrification

hope some people are into it.
if not, sorry for wasting your time.

I am always ready for this kinda challenge. Great portfolio stuff. Thanks for the themes I'll get cracking! You should do these every month Atropa!

Ps: Please use smaller words than "gentrification" Mr. fancy Pants.

Is it cool if a newbie like myself joins in? If this is just for Drawing Board veterans, I understand.

How exactly does it work?

Everyone is welcome! Look out for Atropa though... he's touchy feely on the first date.

Great stuff Atropa! Glad I could be some what of a influence. You should do more with this digital stuff! I really dig his gaudy shirt and the classic "speak into the horn" gag. The only crit would be to straighten up that collar so its similar on both sides... maybe not though... because I also like the organicness about that whole illo... you've used digital but didn't fall into the easy trap of streamlining and thus becoming to computer looking. It's very honest.

Roberific: Good one too! The whole pants riding up was my first thought too. Tough neighborhood he lives in though. Maybe try it with no text as I think the gag is strong and identifiable with out it.

Looks like I am going to be out of town for a few days also so my submission will be slow as well. Crud.. I was all excited to get hopping on these.

Jeez, Atropa. That image is making me a little sick. The snot is what gets me. I fear growing old now. Great illustration!

The illustration jam sounds like fun. I'll try to get something done in the next few weeks too.
