So, the time between now and the release of Monkey Nuts and The Diamond Egg of Wonders is gonna whizz by, so I'll be giving you little previews and sneak peeks from now until then. Here's a little shot of the Muckybutt Temple marudering through the chumptown docs...

This first Monkey Nuts book is of course part of the incredible new DFC Library which is being released from David Fickling Books and Random House. The first three titles are already available for pre-order on amazon, and having seen these books in the flesh yesterday, I can say that they look AMAZING. Click on any of the following titles to check them out on amazon, and maybe even pre-order yourself a copy! MEZOLITH, GOOD DOG BAD DOG, SPIDER MOON.

Oh, and on another note, top man and uber-talented colourist Scotty Simpson sent me an awesome piece of colouring, using one of my recent lineart sketches as a basis. It's very cool, and you can check it out HERE. If anyone else wants to have a go at digitally colouring one of my pics, just drop me a message, I'll be pleased to post up a link to it here and in my blog. Same goes for fan art etc...

Right, that's all for now, cheers!

So, last summer I was lucky enough to work on a few interesting projects including an animated series and a special project for a computer games studio. This monster was created for the latter, and I thought I'd show you the stages of it's creation, hope you enjoy!

More soon!

Between now and the opening night on Friday 26th March (to which you're ALL invited!) I'm going to be showing you some sneak previews of the work that will be on offer. The show will be split into two parts, one half being a series of 7 brand new paintings by me'self, and the other half will be a series of exclusive new prints. To create the prints I've gone back into my archives and am pulling out a selection of my favorite illustrations that have never been coloured, and I'm colouring them up, and laying them up as brand new designs. Each of these will be sold framed, signed and numbered ONE OF ONE! That's right folks, there will only ever be ONE of each of the prints produced! Now that's MY kind of exclusivity! The first pictured here, features Serenity from MOON!

More very VERY soon!

Well, as those who follow our Blog will know, my bro Robin is writing for Star Wars comic here in the UK, and the latest issue is just out!
Aside form all the ba-zillion books we're working on together, he also found time last year to write comics for Transformers, Terminator Salvation, Dreamworks Monsters Vs Aliens and several more in between! And he's already got several very exciting series in the works for 2010! Congrats, bro, couldn't be more proud!

Secondly, I'm putting together a very big new sketchbook at the moment, that will hopefully be launched at the Bristol con in May. Here's a little pic (done for my pa last year) from the pages...!

Cheers!

Damn dude, I just looked at that sketch card thingie with the monster, and I'm stunned by how you go from pencil doodles to awesome in one step like that. Seriously, you got some wicked style, I love it!

Hey pal! Thank you! Yeah, man, sometimes I'm sooper-lazy like that and just go in with the detail in the inks etc. Glad you've enjoyed discovering the thread pal, lots more on the way!

So, those of you who are regular readers will remember me talking about signing contracts last year on a new book. Well, we've been given the go-ahead to announce it, and on March 1st we'll be doing just that! What I can tell you at the moment is that it's being published through Random House and David Fickling Books, publishers of our up-coming Monkey Nuts books.

Stay tuned, and be back here on March 1st for the official announcement.

Lots more coming between now and then, including more previews of my One Man Army exhibition...

So, the clock is ticking away, and it's now just under 5 weeks until the opening of my Solo exhibition One Man Army here in Bristol. As mentioned before, the show will feature 7 new paintings and a series of new prints, all limited to truly exclusive runs of ONE. That's right, there'll be just one of each of the prints, so if you get one, you know it's properly exclusive, and yours will be the only wall it'll be hanging on! Today's web flyer features one of these prints, enjoy!

Details of how to get to the gallery can be found HERE

It?s the 1st of the Month and it?s a Monday, which can only mean one thing - BIG PHAT CHUNKY COMIC NEWS DAY!

Here's our announcement from the blog this morning:

"Regular readers of our blog, and our former studioblinktwice blogspot, will have heard tell of numerous book deals that we completed last year. We?ve already announced our first volume, Monkey Nuts: The Diamond Egg of Wonders (more exciting info on that one coming soon) but today is NEW book day!

We are currently to be found embedded in our little Bristol studio, working side by side and living off a diet of tea, coffee, cream soda and toast as we painstakingly produce page after page for our next sequential adventure - a bande dessin?e format graphic tale to be released as part of the 2011 DFC Library line-up.

Entitled BAGGAGE, it tells the tale of ? oooooooooooh! You almost tricked us there! No, this is one story that is best savoured in small delectable slices and as such we will be drip-feeding you exclusives and teasers each month...

To whet the appetite (lot of eating references today ... must be hungry!) here?s our promo piece. Paint your desktop with this bad boy and spread the word. The BAGGAGE is coming home..."

Hey folks, a little sneak peek at a couple of the paintings I've been working on for my show. These are in- progress shots, so they weren't quite finished when these snaps were taken, but I hope you like 'em anyway! They're just under A1 in size, and are acrylic, gouache, ink and marker on wood. They'll all be framed and under glass.

Right, I hope to see any of you folks who are in the area on Friday, the night runs from 6pm - 10pm at the Weapon of Choice Gallery here in Bristol.

See you there!

Lorenzo!

Show blurb:

"One Man Army unceremoniously opens up the bizarre mind of comic book artist Lorenzo! and spills it all across the walls of the Weapon of Choice Gallery. Featuring a series of graphic portraits of individuals who fall comfortably into the category of "best left alone" this cast of miscreants are a visual snapshot of Dark Pop for the post-Gorillaz generation. Alongside the seven big new paintings are a series of exclusive ONE OF ONE prints, restored from the archives and splashed with all the colours in the paint box that the other kids were too scared to use. Expect robots, monkeys, robot monkeys, the undead and the soon-to-be-dead. This is Uranium at Lead prices."
