I want this game badly but I simply can't afford to take out a mortgage on a PS3, I'm sure it will come out for the 360 eventually, I heard the best deal Sony could get was a 10 month exclusive.

yea but thing is the game is about 33 GB large cause Blue Rays hold up to 50GBs.
So it would take about 4 dual layered DVDs i think to make the game playable on 360. lol
Just get a PS3 and enjoy. I own both systems.

is it much like mgs3?
i liked 3 but the controls took me a while to get used to and the cutscenes and talking seemed to go on for too long and i just skipped through a lot of it

So? Lost Odyssey was 4 DVDs.

Far as I'm concerned, Sony can keep this exclusive anyway.

Just got done..... this game really paid off in alot of good ways... The only negative i could think of is that it needed a better CQC. The way you attack still feels wooden but the battle with liquid took care of that. This game was badass!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the MGS series but even I have to admit that I am tired of videogames trying to be movies, and MGS4 surely represents the end of an era for that type of game. Sony really honestly thought that the future of gaming was making every single piece of software an epic Hollywoodesque blockbuster, and despite how well made MGS4 is, I have more of an urge for the no nonsense pick up and play gaming of the 2D era.

What I am about to say sounds ridiculous, but I think now that MGS4 has gone, Sony have one more game (Final Fantasy)and then it's the road to total self destruction for their videogame division, PS3 and Sony's entire digital media, movie Blueray multimedia business model is totally unsustainable. The future of digital media is not big, expensive and monoplised, it's small, affordable and compartmentalised.

Holy fucking hell those are long 'cutscenes.' Have all these games got such unbearable dialogue?

Awesome game, great story. Most bearable cutscenes of the Metal Gear series. (I remember when my husband beat 2 he fell asleep during the final cutscene, I had to tell him what happened!)
"Laughing Octopus" was the best boss fight I've ever seen.
