New Smashing Pumpkins album

Postby Oysterboy » Tue Jan 09, 2007 8:47 pm

I'm really looking forward to the Smashing Pumpkins new album. I really don't know much about it aside from what is up on their site and on their myspace but I want to be optimistic and hope its good. Does anyone know anything further about this, aside from whats here: http://www.smashingpumpkins.com/ ?

Huh. Apparently it's so. From the myspace page:

"For many years there were private laments about opportunities missed and hearts so broken, but no more...we have turned the page and moved on, from places and faces, names and games...this age calls for resolve and certitude, and the fire within to burn ever bright...if that fire should be connected to absolutely deafening guitars, thundering drums, and the melodies of snakes, then so be it!"

I was a huge fan of theirs back in the nineties... Interestingly enough though this doesn't seem that exciteable. Yet another band that used to be good trying to make a comeback. I do hope it's good though, and they change my mind.

I could only get through about a third of this rambling letter from Corgan:

Here's hoping the new songs aren't as koo-koo as this.

I'm not surprised.
Zwan didn't exactly set anybodies balls on fire.

I actually liked the Zwan album. (Yeah, I'm the one.) Catchy, poppy stuff.

Now you have a Canadian on your team. You better have dolls, Kelly. Otherwise, Captain wants nothin' to do with ya.

I can't wait for this! I hope it's really pretentious and a double album with 16 minute songs. Also hoping for high quality studio version of songs they couldn't finish due to their dispute with Virgin like Dross and White Spider.
