Okay Mars Volta fans...your long wait and thirst is quenched....their debut album has been released. And my god it strikes more than just a few chords with me. First of all its not your regular album. It has a story to it as well. The story is based upon an actual person but the events are changed. Here is a streamlined version of the story: Cerpin Taxt(Julio Venegas) after shooting up; over doses into a coma; in the coma he travels thru his life, heaven, hell, and what his life could have been and what it will be...he is given a choice in his coma the chance to go back and live life or the chance to stay in his coma and eventually die in it. Cerpin Taxt chooses to eventually come out of his coma but relizes what his life will be like now since his last over dose..the loss of movement in one of his arm..he chooses to die...

This album is about his journey through his wonderland (Comatorium). On another note this album actually happens to be released a month after the death of Mars Volta member Jeremy Ward(R.I.P) he was effects and writer amongst so many other things. He died of a drug overdose just like Julio Venegas(Cerpin Taxt) did.

So on with the review...Its good real good...seriously cris and phil and david sid. and jim and catherine. can all easily tell you how good it is...yet my review..You can see the influences all the other reviewers( www.metacritic.com/music/...omatorium/ ) are talking about..the Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Santana..the whole prog rock jazz fusion with a latin dub feel...

Now as for the prayer part of this little message. You (all) bettter hope to the high heavens that you get to at least see them perform once in your life...their shows are just the frgggin best. All I am saying is you should at least attend..and make your own judgement on them at their live show okay.

As for the smile part of this review...

Tour dates:

+ 7/1/2003 + Los Angeles, CA Henry Fonda Theater
+ 7/2/2003 + San Francisco, CA Great American Music Hall
+ 7/8/2003 + Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
+ 7/9/2003 + London Electric Ballroom
+ 7/11/2003 + Manchester Move Festival
+ 7/12/2003 + Scotland T in the Park Festival
+ 7/13/2003 + Dublin Witness Festival
+ 7/16/2003 + Philadelphia, PA Theater of the Living Arts (Philadelphia, PA USA)
+ 7/18/2003 + New York, NY Irving Plaza
+ 7/19/2003 + Boston, MA Axis
+ 7/21/2003 + Toronto Opera House
+ 7/22/2003 + Detroit, MI St. Andrews Hall
+ 7/23/2003 + Cleveland Heights, OH Grog Shop
+ 7/24/2003 + Chicago, IL Metro
+ 7/26/2003 + Denver, CO Gothic Theater
+ 7/28/2003 + Seattle, WA Showbox
+ 8/2/2003 + Osaka Summer Sonic Festival Indoor Stage
+ 8/3/2003 + Tokyo Summer Sonic Festival Indoor Stage
+ 8/23/2003 + London Reading Festival
+ 8/24/2003 + Leeds Leeds University

Yeah the L.A show is sold out..I will have a review of the show in this coming week as well...
