According to Slashfilm they cast Andrew Garfield as Spider-man.
I'm not familiar with the guy, but he looks a lot more like how I imagine Parker thant Tobey Maguire ever did.

From the clips I looked at he seems to be a decent actor as well.

This clip of "Parnassus" already has me sold that he can play a more playful and funnier Spidey than we've seen in Raimi's film;

I thought it was ridiculous that they'd reboot the filmseries already, but I slowly have to come around to that.

They have a director who first movie I really like, and now this lead actor seems to be alright.
I'll have to wait and see how the script will turn out, and how Marc Webb handles action. But I'm actually intrigued by this film now.

I never heard of this guy, but he does not appear to be a bad choice. I hope they let him stay skinny like old school Spidey.

And now I would like to petition Sony to cast R. Lee Ermey as J. Jonah Jameson.

Reminded me of a single x-men story or story part, from the 90's, I've read or peeked over. Psylocke was talking to some other girl, who said, "I'm sure your sister will be very happy to see you again", and Psylocke replied, "ah, of course. I'll come to her and say, hey, little sister! Long time no see! I have so many news to tell! I'm finally back from the dead, and now I'm chinese!"

I'd like Sony to travel back to 1983 and get Dabney Coleman.

Good choice!

My geometry teacher in high looked a LOT like J.J.J. but didn't have the Hitler mustache. Same flattop, though.

Same disposition, too.

The comedian himself makes some jokes about it.
