Because you've already figured out that it won't have those things from a teaser trailer and some screenshots?

Yes. Haven't you? What were you thinking when you saw a screenshot for say... Attack Of The Clones? Wasn't that one shot enough? Or did you think 'Wow! This sucks balls but I need to see more of the same just in case it actually isn't what it absolutely looks like it is".

Cagliostro. Videogames are still trying to catch up with the FMV scenes from Playstation 2.
There is no way in HELL that the PS4 will come close to what's being displayed in Avatar.

I'm not making a scientifically accurate statement, I'm just saying that a film which is being hyped up as revolutionary, looks like it has the sensibilities of a videogame cut scene, the very same cut scenes which will undoubtedly improve exponentially in terms of technical gloss. Point being, there is nothing revolutionary about Avatar at all, I can say with absolute confidence that the next gen consoles will be technically more impressive, can I say the same about next gen gameplay? No. The films of today are technically better than the films of 10 years ago, are they much better films? No. Tech heads get excited about Avatar, fair enough, but people who like story, narrative and compelling characters don't know what the fuss is about. It's a tech demo which happens to use linear narrative to demonstrate it's bells and whistles. Please tell me what I'm missing here, am I just blind to the Cohen brothers style character detail which will be revealed through more clips and screenshots?

I waited 'til I saw the movie before I decided it didn't have good storytelling, yes. Call me crazy. You know....books and covers and all that. I'm not saying I haven't done that, but given that I've enjoyed the bulk of Cameron's movies, I can give him the benefit of the doubt here. Not to mention that I'm excited to support my friends who worked hard on this movie.

3 Minute and 30 Second Avatar Trailer Coming!!

Source:ComingSoon.net
October 19, 2009

ComingSoon.net has confirmed that 20th Century Fox will debut a new trailer for James Cameron's Avatar in theaters this Friday, October 23rd! The trailer, which clocks in at roughly around 3 minutes and 30 seconds, won't be coming online until October 29th. You should really see this in theaters anyways as we've learned that this is THE trailer, the one that will show you much more story (as opposed to the teaser trailer previously released).

YAY!!!!!! :D

I really, really dislike those character designs.

I'm not saying everything should have cartoon stylings but there is a lot to be learned from the way cartoons abstract and exaggerate the right areas of character design. People who don't understand that cartoons are an upgrade from reality, and instead think that they are an inferior simplification of realism will always be way off with their photorealistic character designs.

eh, I'm still not sold.
I guess the action will be pretty fun to look at, but other than there just doesn't seem to be much in it that appeals to me.
Just too much military machismo for my taste and the pulp novel alien designs aren't my thing either.

First trailer did nothing for me. But this one definitely got me interested.
