At least people who avoid trailers because of spoilers (like me) don't have to worry about this clip.

Johnny Depp's a pretty terrible voice actor. I love him as an actor, but between Corpse Bride, Spongebob, and the Pirates video game he's got no range as a voice-over artist at all.

Yes, I admire his monologues too in Dead Man & Las Vegas, but "cartoony" is not the first word that comes to my mind when he speaks. Even so, the idea of a chameleon with an identity crisis just bought it for me.

Is it worth watching the Spongebob movie?

Yes, it's fantastic. He's not in it, though, he was on the actual show. He played a surfing guru. He was pretty terrible.

I'm sold on it. It looks really interesting...and it's been pointed out before elswhere, but Depp sounds kinda like Kermit the Frog...which I didn't expect. But I like it.

Also, is there a Fear and Loathing reference in there? It seems like it.

Weird movie. Not the story or characters mind you, which is about as stock as you can get, but the...well, it gets pretty heavy on the existentialism at certain points and just...well becomes a different movie for a few minutes every once in a while. It also looks freakin amazing.

All 'n all, it aint bad. Nosiree.
