Newest trailer:

As a loyal DreamWorks artist, I must say I am very impressed with what looks like the first really good trailer for any DW movie since Prince of Egypt (one of my all-time favorite trailers.) Nice. 8)

The 'Art of' book for this IS awesome! Maizekid brought his copy to the Thursday night coffee-shop sketch session.

It's gorgeous, inspiring, and infuriating (because it's SO GOOD)

I'm glad DW is finally "getting" what good art books are and hopefully others follow suit. I haven't seen this one yet, but the Kung Fu Panda one was brilliant

Saw the finished movie on Saturday, and it's excellent!! It looks like most of the marketing is typical DW cheesy blah stuff... But honestly, the movie is fantastic.
I hope all of you go see it. I have a feeling word of mouth will be very strong. 8)

Just saw it and it's a loved it- my new favourite DW film. My only disappointment was that I didn't see it in IMAX, a mistake I will rectify very soon...

EDIT: The screening I went to applauded afterwards, which is rare for Australian audiences. Having mentioned it to my colleagues today, the same happened in their screenings too.

The movie is really generic and uninspired...or at least it would be except the main character is actually a pretty interesting guy. The relationship between him and the dragon and him and his father really elevated the film to something special.

It's pretty damned awesome.

It takes awhile to get going, but once Hiccup and Toothless start bonding it doesn't let up until the end. The finale was really, really epic. Love the designs, too. Sanders and Deblois really nailed this one.

Another winner, Dreamworks!

So how about the 3D?
Iif I were to see this thing, should I plow down extra money for that?

Some people are saying it's even more effective than in Avatar, others are not sayingan ything about it.

So I'd like to hear from you guys.

I wouldn't have missed the 3D in the slightest. I think it's an overhyped gimmick and a transparent attempt to get theatres to switch to digital.

The only reason we went to the 3D show, no fooling, is that it was an earlier show.
