Yeah, I'm right there with you man, I really like brush work, and I'm spoiled now with brush-pens. It's pretty amazing that b.t.'s lines look so brush-like when he uses something like a plain old sharpie. I wish I could ink like you, my inking is crap

Thanks, Gibson, and it's like what Hula said about Bruce's work with markers, that beautiful, satisfying finish with "inferior" tools
Bruce's genius in that way reminds me of this woman I worked with at Tower Records. We were responsible for all in-store art, and she was such a gifted, skilled painter she could make the work we produced with poster-grade acrylic on foam-core look like oils on linen
Actually, we didn't work together, she was there ahead of me, moved on to bigger and better things, and I--gulp--was her replacement
But this is off the subject. Who's got some new Timm work to show?

Basically the idea of the series is that different creators did little captain america stories, and they were restricted to using only the colors red, white, and blue, I found a page and used most of the colors from there to do it. He fights a nazi werewolf thing, it's pretty cool.

I also made an alternate coloring of the wallpaper using the colors from the Holiday Knights episode of Batman. I always loved that lighting.

Are you guys saying that Bruce doesn't ink with a brush or a brush marker??? His bw line sure looks like the thick and thin that you get with a brush.

Do you know what kind of marker he uses if it isn't a brush?

i'm kinda surprised it didn't sell, $400 isn't too much for such a great looking color pieces...although it is small

Hula---I don't know where I read about Bruce using markers, or what brand. I tried to look for the info in Comicology#1, but I didn't see it.

Charles--Great Pamela, thanks for posting!

Drugmassacre--- From a conversation with a dealer in original art from a bunch of years ago my understanding is 400$ is, or was the going rate for a finished, non-color ink sketch , size 8 1/2"x 11 by Bruce, so that seems like a good price for the Teela.
And such a nice Teela!
:D

Okay, another great pic I'd like to study in pastel before my semester really gets underway:

Yowza, that's beautiful! Also, I think that he talked about what he used in a thread somewhere around here a few years ago, so its probably still here.

I grabbed this from a current ebay auction. Dang, but I wish the scan were bigger, we'll just have to rely on the kindness of the eventual purchaser..
