dang, I need to troll these boards more often.
When I heard the terrible news, I was totally shocked. Alex toth was one of the most biggest influences on me since I was a young'un, my mentor who taught me how to draw in the first place was actually taught himself how to draw by non other than toth when he started work on the super-friends series.
He was one of those great artist masters that I had always wanted to meet, and I hear that they're going to have a memorial at san diago this year also.
I REALLY want to go to this thing now for that memorial.
and those are great pieces you guys have put up, bravo.

Don't be afraid to post some artistic tributes to the man as well - wasn't there a thread here not to long ago where people were drawing characters of his or in his style? re-post them!

random page from ADVENTURE COMICS 419. The BC DC archives reprinted the two-part story from AVENTURE COMICS, but the dopes at DC re-lettered it.
You also get a Bob Oksner cover, Supergirl story with De Zuniga pencils/Oksner inks and Giordano art on Zatanna.

Here is a tribute piece I had done in 2002.
Toth's character THE FOX was/is my favorite of his concepts. I must have done a bunch of Fox drawings, sample pages as I was first starting out...
I need to do a new tribute tho'!!

This Toth autobiography is a scan of a photocopy I've had for years. I believe it's from one of the DC Collector's Editions, probably SuperFriends.
