Well, well, you've really done it, mister "sensitive". You've pissed me off too.
I 'm not as articulate as the others, but you piss me off nevertheless.

I can't think of anybody else i'd want to do a pin up for a Hellboy spin off. And i'm sure he'll do a full story soon. I'm sure of it.
And you know what? You'll be as bitter then, no matter how good Rick's stuff is. And do you know why, poor poor little man? Because your bitterness obscures your appreciation of art.
We, artists, are just very very glad Rick's got something to do with Hellboy...

We all agree that Rick has got the talent, the drive and the profound, sincere humility artists need to evolve."Ego" is an outofthisworld word for him.
If you ask him, he' ll tell you he's not that happy about most of his stuff...Humble,i tell you...
He's a very giving, enthousiastic, generous, supportive artist.
He's inspiring. He's an artist. This kind of guys are pretty rare.... But you wouldn't know.
You seem to be just a guy who's only after the "pride" and the recognition of doing a piece for Hellboy....

I don't know who you are,how your stuff looks,and frankly my dear, i don't give a rat's ass....
I just hope that someday ,somehow,we'll have to work together.....

Yours sincerely, mister so freaking important.

rodolphe.

Congratulations, Rick. That's great news. I know this must be a huge thrill for you. I'm just sorry 'sensitive' had to ruin this thread for you.

When I first read his post I thought he must've been a buddy of yours giving you shit, but unfortunately...

When does the book come out by the way?

Edited by: CAP 3 at: 5/28/03 11:39:00 pm

to the unimportant & insensitive guy

perhaps you could consider, just consider, the fact that if the critical reveiw of so many established professionals runs contrary to your own, you are just plain WRONG.

just put that in the background.

by the way, i would like to take a moment to let you know you were wrong about your assesment of kelseys JLA cover as well.

Just wanted to add. I've seen the piece in it's entirety too and I must say it's worthy of the cover to the comic. I'm excited to see it again in the comic.

-St0lle

Stumbled across this one a little late. First I offer congrats to Rick and Anjin on their success. Second I would point out that if there is a list a mile long than their submission must have really made an impact on the editors.... so I wouldn't worry about what some posters might say it sounds like you impressed the right people.

I think Anjin put it best by asking you not to rain on their parade. If it upsets you so I recommend you voice your disent by not purchasing the comic book. Or if you must buy the comic you can always remove the page that offends you, but there is no need to try and belittle someone elses accomplishments.

What kills me is he loves Rick's Hellboy Guest Art page, and would love Rick if he put up higher-quality JPGs of one or two of the illustrations.

I also find it hilarious that he again slams Rick (and the entire comic industry!), but slips in a little kiss-ass for Shane & Cameron, as if to save himself some measure of dignity with two of the board's better-known artists.

Post the address.
Keith
www.toonimator.com

Rick,

Knowing your affection for the character, I imagine the project was a dream come true for you.

Most of us will never have our greatest dream find realization.

For this I am sooo excited for you.

Personally, I've lost affection for the character a couple of years ago.
Although I'm one of the many artists waiting to take a stab at the project, I don't have particular interest in Hellboy.
I suspect that my interest in the project is merely an attempt to be included within the pages of the many great artists on the series.

I truly believe that you're hard work, and affection for Hellboy has granted you deserving for the pinup.

And for this reason I envy you.

Sensitive's comments are biased and based on the unseen.
I strongly believe in critique, not based on hindsight, nor foresight. But, hard work evidenced by accomplishment.

Good job kid.
