walrus - that pic is dope as usual. i agree with the doc that the face is a little skewed. i think it's the chin line that seems a little too squared. great stuff as always.

I decided to try and color another one of my sketches from the jam for practice.

AzzaMcKazza, n69n, geezer87, doctor-U: thanks for the kind feedback.
Funny, I prefer the my second sketch to the first. I have a tendancy to put more detail in than I initially would like to and with the second I was deliberately trying to leave detail out. Obviously I still need to work on that aspect of my drawing. I do appreciate that fresh eyes see things differently though.

Great work everyone!

Hey everyone, this is my first post here, been watching the boards for the past few weeks and have been thoroughly amazed. Everyone here is great! Its been awhile since I've drawn but I felt inspired (kinda). Thought I should cut my teeth on this thread here, I haven't got my own webspace right now, so I just have free webspace...Clic To See Pic I'd love to hear what you think!

car2na: Sweet piece! Before I read your post, I thought the pic was a drawing and I was confused at why you did what you did. Then I read it and was blown away. Really cool.

Great work in this Jam!

latita attempts

Postby draw_man » Sun Jun 13, 2004 10:44 pm

Okay, this is my first post. I have been snooping around admiring the work you folks do and learning a lot.

I started drawing recently so I seem to have problems with the usual stuff begginers have problems with. Hands esp. I don't have a scanner so I used a digital camera for these. I don't know how to ink or color but I think I will focus on my sketching first anyway.

Any c&c would be apreciated. Thanks.

The one with her sitting is good for my skill level I think. The one with her standing I had problems with the fingers on her left hand. Foreshortening is still tricky. The one with her laying down I had problems with the paper smudging when I tried to fix mistakes with her noggin. Maybe I'll try again.

Laetitia, Laetitia everywhere...

Postby BodyART » Mon Jun 14, 2004 5:49 pm

Here's my first art post to these forums. :D This is a pencil sketch I decided to scan and color using Photoshop 7.0. I've never tried to use PS to color one of my sketches before, so I thought I'd give it a try, be the results good, bad, or ugly. :)

I will say this piece convinced me it's time to buy a wacom tablet. Coloring with the mouse was an excercise in futility.

C&C is welcome. I know I botched a few areas on proportion, and the skirt gave me a hard time. <throws mouse against the wall>

Hi, all! Guess it's never too late to add to the thread. This is something I was working on last night and this morning. I must confess that I cheated a bit with the texture and took a clipping of her actual skirt from the photref and stuck it in there as part of the texture. Feel free to heap loads of calumny and vitriol upon me for doing this.
