Postby graman » Sat Jan 22, 2005 11:06 am

Anyone know what happened to posin solutions? I went on their site and it was gone . Did they go out of business?I can't seem to find it anywhere else.

I know this is a VERY late response for this post, but have you thought of poser for this use? I use it often and it works well.

Poser is a quite awful program that allows you to manipulate a 3d model of a human figure into any pose imaginable outside of human boundaries, this generally leads to people posing them in unnatural poses and drawing them (or in worst case scenarios, painting over them).

You can usually tell when someone has based a drawing on a poser model.

Also its used to make a lot of crappy 3d porn.

The trick is to not rely on it, same as if you've been painting from a photograph. I do agree that it is quite generic. But nonetheless helpful. Worth looking into if you're having trouble visualizing a figure.-Ev

True, perhaps my dislike of poser is a little harsh and one sided.

You see one of my lecturers, teaching illustration basically swears by poser as the be all and end all of human references so every final piece from students looked like a badly posed, poser model, painted over in painter. I guess it really didnt help that most people doing the unit didnt have much actual drawing ability to begin with.
