Walrus Droppings

11/26/2007 - Another try at the colors

Trying to refine the colors a bit - lots more warmer colors around Vampi so that her pale skin really sticks out, the one cool spot on the page. I've de-empahsized Frankie's towel so that it doesn't grab so much attention. The umbrella is now darker so that it doesn't blend into the background. And I flipped the image so that Vampi's face gets seen sooner. As an extra-special bonus, I've included a close-up of Frankie's magazine, the monster edition of Cosmo.

That's lovely, Walrus. The sand is really well done, and the guys in the background are great. The colours are definitely better in this second version.

Are you going to add SPF 4000 on the bottle? Loved that from the sketch!

Hey!

Was going through emails the other day, and I was reminded to see pictures of the happy family. You all look like you are happy, healthy and enjoying parenthood!

Your sketches are amazing. I love your use of color and light. I like how this sketch was flipped and the color variances of this vs the other sketch. Also I like how the Cosmo cover balances the unbrela. Nicely done.

Sending love and admiration from the East coast.
