6/6/2007 - Roly poly Ixt heads
Back to the alien character design for a bit here, as I slowly work on the color image seperately. The last time I showed these bugs - a race now known as the Ixt - we had finalized a body but not a head. So I thought I'd show how I tend to iterate on something like that. I duplicate the body in Photoshop, erase the heads, and print out a bunch of sheets. So now I have Ixt-body sketchbook paper, upon which I can doodle lots of heads. I've got several pages just like this one, all different ideas for the head. Even on this one, you can see notes from our design get-togehters, little arrows to which body parts one or another person favors. In the end, we all decided we like the top right one best, so that's our new alien race!
