2/23/2007 - The Bureau of Unclaimed Aliens, part 1
Hi, all! Haven't had a ton of time to sketch lately with the new baby, but now that I'm back at work, I at least can squeeze in some scribbles during the commute. For a while now, I've been doing some work on a new role playing game (table-top, not video.) It's called 'Starbound,' and is set in the future where mankind has met lots of alien races. You go around and have adventures, as either a human or some other race. The character creation system and the combat/problem-resolution mechanisms are very streamlined and a lot of fun, without sacrificing depth of play.
But anyhow, so I've been doing a lot of alien race designs. All of these are just rough sketches of new ideas for playable races (There'll be lots, and several are already mostly "in the bag," as they say.) As they're just vague concepts, don't get your hopes up for playing any of them in particular... but if there are ones you like, or could see yourelf playing, by all means, let me know!

I'll post some more in the coming days...

Great designs! My favorite of the whole bunch is the frog-faced guy with tentacles instead of legs.
