11.20.2007 - Vectors: Difference Issue

Posted in Interactive
Thought I'd post a link to my last interactive project... my third contribution to the online academic journal Vectors.

I actually finished this back in September, but I've been so busy working on my thesis film that I forgot to mention it. In any case, you can view the project here: Deliberative Democracy & Difference. I've also posted some screenshots below.

5.18.2007 - The Intruder Web Site

Posted in Interactive
Well, with classes finally out of the way, I figured I could spend a week or so building a proper web site for The Intruder. Nothing too crazy... something clean and easy to use that would allow people to preview the film. Here are some Photoshop mock-ups of what I've got so far. Everything will be done in Flash. Hope to get it all done this weekend!

(EDIT: Looking at this online, the deselected menus look really dark... must be the JPEG compression. Anyway, will have to lighten them a bit, because they're practically invisible!)

Posted in Interactive
The spring 2006 issue of the online academic journal Vectors (Volume 2, Issue 1) has finally launched and includes a piece I worked on with Kim Christen, Chris Cooney and Craig Dietrich called Digital Dynamics Across Cultures.  You can access the project through the Vectors site here.  Just be sure to have Flash Player 8 installed.  I also posted some stills below.

1.17.2006 - Digital Dynamics Across Cultures

Posted in Interactive
Issue 03 of the online academic journal Vectors is in production.  I'm working on a piece for it entitled Digital Dynamics Across Cultures that focuses on the cultural protocols of aboriginal societies in Australia.  The piece is authored by Washington State University Prof. Kim Christen and her husband, Chris Cooney.  I am responsible for design and development.  Craig Deitrich, database and php developer extraordinaire, is assisting us with the backend.  If you'd like to take a peek at this work in progress, you can do so HERE.  Bear in mind, this project is still under development.  It is not fully functional and many design elements will change.

9.6.2005 - Our Place in Japan Interactive CD-ROM

Posted in Interactive

The following are stills from an interactive art project called "Our Place in Japan".  The project was created by David Bazelon, Matt Clausen, Mendi Menefee and Jin Wha Lee -- four classmates of mine from USC's Division of Animation and Digital Art -- and captures elements from their experience as exchange students at Tokyo University of Technology last winter.  Although I did not travel with them to Japan, I assisted them with some of the trickier programming elements, including the system by which the user navigates through the virtual cityscape (see photos 2 and 3).

8.6.2005 - Jenny Holzer at Neue Nationalgalerie

Posted in Interactive

Just finished a new web project documenting Jenny Holzer’s art installation at the Berlin Neue Nationalgalerie.  Some of you may have already seen portions of it as I was working on it…. well, now it’s done.

The piece was done for an online academic journal published by the University of Southern California called Vectors.

I posted some stills below.
