March 24, 2007 - Suave, Sophisticated and Gay??

I really love old british 60's and 70's cop shows, I grew up watching them. And a few years back and I was treated to a show called Department S. It was about these three secret service agents who would solve strange puzzle crimes. The show lasted one season but from it one of the agents landed his own series spin off called 'Jason King'. A novelist that would when the British government called would go and save the world from Russians and Germans. He was like the original Austin Powers of his day and apparently some inspiration for Mike Myers alter ego.
So anyway women swooned at his handsomeness and loved his suave knitted suits. There was only one problem the guy was GAY!! oops!! when the actor was found out (in the back of a bus depot I'm not making this up) his career was ruined and he would go on to play klytus in 1980's Flash Gordon!!
