Monday, August 7, 2006 - Gee those happy couples...
Here's a new "couple" illustration. You may have noticed that couple-themed pieces keep popping up in my work. I'm actually a romantic sucker for these things... they're rarely original, not very inspired, but I feel the urge to do them. For her. My girlfriend. She deserves it. Not that it's that much of a gift, but anyway... hopefully she'll enjoy this new one.
I tried to achieve something different on this one, colorwise. I've been getting tired of using the same hot/cold contrast lately, mainly with blue / purpled VS orange palettes. So I limited myself to a more unusual palette of reds and yellows, and managed to stick to it till the end. This is the first color work in a long time that I'm actually happy with.
On a side note, this was the first time I ever digitally inked something. Using my new graphic tablet. That thing is a dream come true... I was afraid it'd take me a while to get used to it at first, but it's much more "artist-friendly" than I expected! Here's the line without colors.

| very nice..i like the colors and this is a very good result of digital inking.. i have a cheap tablet but it's not so friendly... i think i'll get a wacom someday soon.. what size do you recommend? :) |

camello, for the tablet, I would recommend A5. It's the one I use and quite frankly, it's perfect, no need for anything bigger. |
