1. What is Artspace?

Artspace is a web hosting company founded in Los Angeles that was setup as the commercial arm of Drawingboard.org. Artspace has been setup to retain a small amount of loyal customers, so we can give out users a more individual attention, more like family than a business.

2. Why did the Drawingboard.org start a web hosting company?

For a while, all of the Drawingboard.org’s expenses were funded out of the pocket by is administrators. But soon the site became so large and popular, that the expenses became overwhelming. The server’s the boards were on went down frequently and after changing providers 3 times, we finally setup our own server. Armed the knowledge of “what not to do” to your customers, having terrible experiences with hosting in the past, we figured the best way to combat the growing expenses of the board, is to provide others with friendly hosting of their own.

3. Who Hosts websites with you?

We try and focus on individual’s sites and portfolio sites, small to medium businesses, and organizations. Many of the sites we host are artist’s websites to show off their talents. We tend to shy away from really large corporate sites and adult sites, because these types of sites tend to use up a lot of system resources, and we want everyone to get good fast reliable service.

4. How does the customer support work?

Customer support is done through our email helpdesk. What’s good about Artspace is that since we are a smaller host that works with a smaller customer base, we can offer more individualized attention through our helpdesk.

5. Why Should We Host With Artspace?

We can offer you a very reasonable rate, for what you get. Sure there's cheaper webhosts, but our plans offer great features, special attention to every site we host, and a smaller client base means you get more friendly personal support.
